life unexpected.
so i just started watching Life Unexpected. i have been taping it since it premiered, but i haven't had time to actually catch up until today and i really like it. i can't decide yet, if it has potential to last on the cw. so many shows seem to circulate through the station, but so far i am really a fan. if you haven't gotten into yet i definitely recommend it.
oh and they play really good music throughout the show!
glum wednesday.
well it's a rather gloomy day here in cs, tx. the weather is cool and misty and the skies are {gray}.
i'm trying to get some homework done at starbucks. it's part of my daily routine. i come here get a cappuccino, say hello to all my other starbucks friends, and get on the computer. i check facebook, pitchfork, uo, anthro, and my favorite blogs, before getting to that homework stuff. i always intend on getting more done than i typically do, but it is what it is.
on days like today i would enjoy nothing more than curling up on the couch with good book (i am currently reading the new york regional singles halloween dance) and my microfiber blanket while playing a little {she & him} or {vampire weekend} for background music.
so i'm in a glum mood given the weather, and the fact i am running low on quarters and decided to try to beat the meter system. i was putting one quarter in at a time and letting a little time go by before going to check the meter again. well i just went out to check and i got another ticket. whomp whomp.
oh, and i just found out that my little college station house is officially sold. i am very indifferent about it. i have lived here for almost 3 years, and watched it being built from the ground up. i picked out the stone, the paint, and my little red door. there have been so many memories made in that house (good and not so fantastic ones). i remember being so excited when the girls and i moved in and we officially got to know Lauren. we have had some of the most epic dance parties at the house which will probably be some of my favorite memories.
on a more {happy} note:
1. i plan on catching up on some tv shows tonight
2. i am going home tomorrow for Holly's shower weekend.
3. i cannot wait to see the girls! i miss them so!

sxsw: pretty lights.
this past sunday we decided to go to sxsw to see pretty lights play at the republic. we didn't leave Houston until 8pm, the concert started at 9pm, and we left at 2am. so we were there for a total of 4 hours, but it was definitely worth it. of course my friends decided to dress up for the show. earlier sunday afternoon we decided to pick up some clothes from the thrift store and it made the concert even more fun! (yes, i am wearing a cut off bridesmaid dress with shoulder pads compliments from the early 90s..)
they are coming to Houston on April 29th
and of course we will all be there!
-- more spring break updates to come later this week!

going green.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
today is also my best friend Melissa's 22nd birthday.
these pictures are from spring break last year.
we spent her 21st on Bourbon St.
this year was a little more low key.
we were in florida and just
we read a little and went a nice restaurant for dinner.
Happy St. Patrick's/Birthday Melissa!

a hope for love.
{playing around in the kitchen}
we went to see Remember Me a few nights ago.
i'll have to say, i loved it
but i did leave the theater slightly depressed.
i feel like lately Hollywood has totally gotten away
from a "happily ever after."
majority of the chick-flicks i have seen in the last year
have all ended realistically,
but the girl doesn't get the guy.
i guess i'm just an optimist when it comes to relationships.
i want a happy ending, and i like to feel warm and fuzzy
when the girl in the film gets the guy too.
--hopefully i am not spoiling the movie for you.

pretty lights: austin,tx.
reading material.
so i don't know much about this book, but after seeing the trailer for the movie i decided to go pick a copy up. i was not a fan of Dear John, but i do have high expectations for this one. Nicholas Sparks just never can let people have a happy ending! i leave the movies feeling depressed.
oh well, i'll let you know what i think about this one!
UPDATE: i read this book in 24 hours, and it is a must read!
brunch, starbucks, and alice in wonderland.
on sunday,
we decided to head to brunch at Farrago.
it was very good, and i would highly recommend it.
after brunch, we went went and hung out at this nice Starbucks in Midtown.
we giggled a lot and danced a little. i love exploring downtown of a big city.
i like being surrounded by something so much bigger. it's just blissful.
after starbucks, we went to see Alice in Wonderland. i loved it!
it's definitely a must see!

baby boy blayne's birthday.
so the second night in houston, we celebrated blayne's 25th birthday. the boys decided to have a crawfish boil and it was a great time. i danced for about 8 hours straight. i was exhausted by 9pm, haha. the next day it hurt so bad to bend my legs at all. we had a good time playing with the crawfish. you would think we were small children. oh well, i always love a good photo opp.
my love.
chad and ryan.
birthday boy blayne.
my first crawfish of the season.

you couldn't pay me to do that. peeps are so nasty.
weekend in houston: round two.
{ryan and i}
so not this past weekend but the weekend before, i went to houston once again. i just {love} that city, and the people there. that's the main reason why i go on such a regular basis. i got to houston kind of late friday night. Chad and i went to Cedar Creek and met up with Blayne and friends and ate dinner. We then went to Blayne's before headed to the PA's (physician assistant girls) house. We practically did a repeat of the weekend before, and went and danced the night away at Vintage. Of course, it was a great time. Luckily, i wore better shoes than last time so my feet were not ready to fall off by the end of the night. We do love to have fun..
