Why I'm An Aggie...

happpppy game day.

btho OSU!

feeling like fall.

(pumpkins with warts make my skin crawl)
it finally is starting to feel like fall around here.
it's breezy in the morning,
{however it does still feel like death around lunch.}

at least i can start my day off right wearing long sleeves,
and taking in the (almost) feel of fall.

i miss walking through campus during fall, and sitting up
at my window in the coffee shop listening to music
and daydreaming while watching the hustle bustle of the students
walk by.
it used to be so cozy at my little table.

we kick started the season in {nashville} last weekend by going to buy pumpkins at the farmer's market, and of course take lots of pictures.

i can smell carving, cider, yellow/orange leaves

and boots in the near future.

huzzah!

september-- looking ahead.

i realize that we are already almost half-way through the month (how is that even possible), but i decided to make a list of things to look forward to this month.

1. Fooball games:
Watching baby brother play high school ball.

Aggie football.

Texan games.

2. Fall line-up:

Parenthood returns tonight. as well as, Life Unexpected.
3. Fall food: pumpkin flavoring is in.

4. Fall clothes and boots are in season (even if it's still in the 90s...)

5. Fall drinks make a come back at Starbucks

6. Cooler weather (slightly) and the leaves are supposed to start turning. I live in SETX, I have low expectations.

happy september!

Gossip Girl.

so excited for the premiere tonight!

2010 VMAs Recap:

1. Of course Lady Gaga showed up in an outrageous outfit and proceeded to change into a number of equally ridiculous outfits as the night went on.. shocking
2. I loved Chelsea Handler's intro into the show pretending to be Lady Gaga.
3. I noticed that everyone (Rihanna, LG, KP, etc.) decided to wear really long artificial nails to the show. Not a trend I will be duplicating. As if the long nails weren't bad enough, Katy Perry decided to paint Russell Brand's face on all of her nails since he couldn't make it. Now that's love..
3. Taylor Swift's performance sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

4. Justin Bieber was precious as always. I secretly really want to attend one of his concerts.
5. Deadmau5 was the house DJ. loveeee him! Listen to his song here.

6. Loveddd the performance by Florence + the Machine.

7. Yay, for the Black Keys winning Breakthrough Video of the Year. I'm not in love with the video by any means, but I do love "Tighten Up."

In lieu of the VMAs, I decided to add a picture of my dear friend Christopher at I from a few years back. He called me, and begged me to forget about studying and instead dress up with him while watching the show. This is why we are friends...

chocolate coma.

When I lived in College Station, I used to try to do a weekly baking night. My favorite thing to do in the fall was to pick a night and watch my shows while destroying the kitchen. (I used to do a Pushing Daisies and cupcake night, but unfortunately ABC had to rain on my parade.) Baking is very relaxing to me, and I am a perfectionist when it comes to certain things and so I always want to make very pretty treats that taste as good as they look. I tried out these chocolate-chocoate chip cookies that I had seen here and they were pretty amazing.

you can find the recipe here.

oh so madewell.

British style icon Alexa Chung just launched her fall collection for Madwell, and it is amazing!

shop the collection here.

true love.

you have to watch this video if you have not already.

it is so sweet, and of course i cried.

i just hope that when i am their age, i will have gotten to experience love like that.

six shots of espresso before 1pm...

woke up at 6 in FL.
flew back to TX.
sat in front of a little boy who likes to kick the back of chairs repeatedly, yay.
upon arriving in Houston, the sky decides to fall through.
depressing much?
i get completely poured on in attempt to get to my car.
drove pretty much straight to work
while my mom and "sister" are enjoying a nice Nordstrom Cafe lunch.
danced a little in the car to lift my spirts.
spilled half of my iced latte on my stack of invoices...
3 hours until freedom and sleep.
i [should] survive.

on a more positive note:
the weekend was absolutely amazing : )
pictures coming soon.

Friday, September 3, 2010

today i am headed here:

i will be spending labor day weekend in watercolor
exerting minimal energy due to the holiday
(unless you count the run with my mom i know i
will be forced to go on even if i "forget" my tennis shoes...)

we plan to spend the weekend:
laying on the beach,
reading,
watching movies (Date Night),
riding bikes,
playing paddle ball,
eating out,
and there is always potential dancing involved.

have a very relaxing weekend!

Thursday, September 2, 2010

hey today is 90210.

the past:

and the present:

i should have worn some high waisted straight legged jeans to celebrate!

on my mind.

(picture taken in Seaside, FL)

I kick start the day with...
a grande dry, nonfat, 1 splenda cappuccino.

Other daily essential...
my ipod. I constantly have some song playing in my head.

Recent splurge...
sunglasses. I mean I couldn't see in the sunlight without them...

Dreaming about...
the weekend ahead in Watercolor : )

Beauty indulgence...
Laura Mercier lip gloss. They are my absolute favorite, plus they don't taste too bad.

Can't stop watching...
Glee. I'm just now getting around to watching it, and i love it!

Top Shop...
Nordstrom and anthro.

Signature Scent...
the new Ballenciaga.

You won't find me...
running around town like I just rolled out of bed. I just can't do it.

I {love}...
traveling the world. There is so much I have yet to see.

live a little.

(picture from the vegas strip)

"Life is too short to wake up with regrets, so love the people who treat you right. Love the ones who don't just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Kiss slowly, forgive quickly. God never said it would be easy, he just promised it would be worth it!"

happy list.

10 things that make me extremely happy:
1. city lights
2. receiving mail
3. waking up to a text message knowing that someone thought of you before you even woke up
4. a solid dance party
5. laying on the beach in WC with a good book
6. new music tuesdays
7. the first day of seasonal drinks at starbucks
8. feeling blessed and loved
9. walking around outside on a pretty day with my camera in hand
10. the holidays

--- it's all about the simple things in life.

michael turns twenty.

happy birthday to my eldest little brother.
He is one of the most easy going people I have ever met,
and I love how close we have become in recent years.
I can always talk him into doing something silly with me
that he doesn't really want to do.
Exhibit A:
Hope you have a great birthday!
