michael turns twenty.

happy birthday to my eldest little brother.

He is one of the most easy going people I have ever met,

and I love how close we have become in recent years.

I can always talk him into doing something silly with me

that he doesn't really want to do.

i do i feel like i have been a lot {riskier} as of late.

things to be {happy} about.

On a couple of blogs {A Beautiful Mess} and {Pennyweight} I saw that the girls were making happy lists, and I decided that it would be good for me to jot one down.

- Labor Day weekend in Watercolor, FL. [words can't even express my excitement.]

- Having a job. I am so blessed to have a father who runs his own company, so that I can gain experience while figuring out my next step. It might not be my ideal job, but it definitely has its benefits and is kind of perfect for now.

- New friends that I feel like I have known my entire life [that's just how strong the bonds are.]

- Redecorating my old room, so that it feels more like me. I love a good project.

- The fact that I have my grandpa to go eat lunch with today.

- The Texan vs. Cowboys game this weekend, and getting to see some friends I haven't seen in a while!

- Dark chocolate and almond Nutella on a bagel... my new favorite breakfast snack.

feeling more at home.

so i moved back home.

i have been dreading this entire experience, but i finally feel like this is God's current plan for my life and I am starting to make the most of it.

my first complaint about living at home is that i have to use the furniture in my room and it is still decorated like i left it post high school.

today i had a revelation that i should redo it, so i will enjoy hanging out in my room more during this season of living back at home.

my furniture in my room is very modern and does not go with everything, so i can't use everything from my college bedroom being that that furniture is in storage and would be a pain to temporarily move.

so...

i have this quilt from anthro that i can use.

add these sheets.

plus this pillow.

and a few decorative knicknacks.

this will go with the silver hardware.

i loveeee this rug.

i'm going to hang some records, and set up my record player.

collect a few decorative frames.

and buy a few of these Penguin classics to stack.

andddd i think this will be a great start to feeling more at home.

plus, it gives me something exciting to work on.

i'll let you know how it goes.

reason behind my temporary leave of absence.

i have been terrrrrible about keeping up with this blog as of late.

this is mainly due to the fact that i have done a great

deal of traveling the past few weeks.

1. i drove back to FL from TX on june 29th.

2. i flew out to San Antonio for a wedding july 8th.

3. i flew back to FL on july 11th.

4. i flew to Nashville and then Vegas july 15th.

5. i returned to FL july 19th, and thankfully i will stay here

for the remainder of the month.

let's just say...

i am very burnt out on the airport,

i would never want to be a stewardess,

they keep airplanes wayyyy too cold,

i can only read/listen to music by myself for so long,

people say very random things to strangers in the airport.
