pretty packages.

i baked these cookies the other day and packaged them up
in these boxes from target and yarn/twine from hobby lobby.
loved the look. presentation is key!

loveless cafe.

last weekend i finally got to try out the famous {loveless cafe}.
there is not much better than a country breakfast on a
saturday morning.
we did have to wait an hour, but it was well worth it!

my new love.

she is actually my brothers, but being that he is only 17 i have been taking care of her.
her name is marlee and she is absolutely precious.
we just have so work to do training her.
her teeth are so sharp and all she wants to do is bite!

the perfect match.

have you checked out matchbook magazine yet?
i just flipped through it and fell in love.

i love their slogan-- a field guide to a charmed life.

take a leap of faith.

christmas decor: better late than never?

as inspired by anthropologie:
this year anthropologie had little cedar slices decorated with trees on various tables throughout the store. my room is decorated much like the store, so they were a nice addition to my christmas decor this year.

what you need:
cedar wood slice (Hobby Lobby or ETSY)
miniature artificial christmas trees- various sizes (HL)
fake snow

optional:
small christmas candles
deer
other christmas trinkets

Just hot glue or place trees and snow on cedar slice.
Arrange any other trinkets as you wish.

On one table i used a holiday candle that I got from anthro.
my nightstand.
i also strategically placed pine cones around my room as a cheap way to add more festive appeal.

spring.

loving these for spring.
it's still winter around here,
but we won't have too many more weeks of it.
i'm kind of over to cold and looking forward
to shorts with long sleeve tunics and cardigans.
you can find these killer oxfords here.

instant love.

i bought the mini version of this camera back in the late spring.
this year i think i need this one.

i heard it is gynormous, but i think i will love having
instant pictures that are a bit larger again.

you can buy one here.

this year's resolutions.

1. pack less- i'll admit...traveling with me is a complete nightmare. traveling by myself is even worse. when flying, i usually carry (2) 50 lb. carry-ons and i check two bags. people hate to road trip with me because i fill the car up with things i might need. needless to say, in 2011 i need to cut back on the packing because half the time i do not use 1/2 of what i bring.

2. read more- i love to read. finding time to read is another issue. i would like to read at least 25 books this year. i can definitely do it, i just need the motivation to dig in.

3. follow through with ideas/be more crafty- i'm constantly jotting down craft ideas. i even go to hobby lobby and buy the materials. half the time i just have trouble following through with my ideas, and i want to do a better job of completing things i start.

4. learn more about my camera- i bought the canon 50d back in may. i absolutely love the camera, and it takes amazing pictures. i use iphoto to edit the pictures, and i got photoshop elements for christmas. i still have so much to learn about the camera. i want to learn how to use it manually, so i can take more professional looking pictures.

5. de-clutter my room/life- i have so much stuff. my life would be so much simpler if i could get rid of some of the clutter and become more organized. i want to organize my craft ideas into books, and make a book of magazine cutouts so i can through out more magazines. i also need to get rid of clothes and other things i don't really use.

6. live fearlessly- i am a very fearful person. i don't like to take risks, nor do i like to do anything that might set myself up for disappointment. life is so short, and it's time for me to start living a little more.

7. focus on the present- there are so many times i find myself anticipating the future and what God has in store for me that i am missing out on what is happening right now. i don't want to look back, and feel like i took advantage of what i had at my fingertips.

8. drink more water/exercise- i (like everyone else in america) put exercise on my resolution list. i just want to eat a little healthier, drink more water, and try to fit in some exercising during the week... even if exercising means playing dance central on my brother's xbox for a few hours.

9. make videos- i got a flip for christmas, and this year i want to start making little mini videos to music of different places i travel or events.

i suppose that is a good list to start with. let's see if i can mark some things off!

old fashion address book.

i love these address cards from anthropologie.

lately i've been writing a lot of letters,
and i do not have anything to keep my addresses in
so they are just kind of strung about various sheets of paper.

i'm going to try to snag one of these next time i go in the store.

fightin' [texas] aggie football.

last weekend we flew to {dallas} for the night to go to the cotton bowl. it was a lot of fun even though the ags couldn't pull off a win.

until next season, gig 'em!

i saw this movie this weekend and fell in love.
i was surprised it was actually more about texas than nashville.

leighton meester is a doll,
and i loved the music.

you should definitely go see it!

nye, times square or westhaven?

we rang in the new year with a house party.
we went to the party store earlier in the day for props.
we decided we had to have the times square backdrop,
streamers, and of course lights.
we ate pizza and cupcakes
and played a game of Circle of Death.
if you have never played, i highly recommend it.
it's a good time.
of course, we broke out into a dance party early in the night
and continued to dance into the new year.
my favorite find for the party were the mini hats.
if you have not seen the tiny hat skit for snl,
it's a must see and part of the reason i loved my
little glitter hat so much.
here's to 2011,
i feel like it's going to be a good one!
side note: i can't take credit for all the photos. a new friend i made was testing out her new lens and took a billion fun pictures at the party.

park city y'all.

i just got back from spending 4 days in utah.
i've never been and it was absolutely beautiful.
we stayed at the escala lodge at the canyons.
i didn't ski this year,
but instead we went snowmobiling,
shopping, site seeing, got a massage,
and saw How Do You Know (not a must-see).
it was nice to be in a cozy little lodge
in the mountains after christmas.
